What are Friends are for?

January 12, 2010

Friendships are beautiful. Having a friend is a truly a wonderful experience. Good friends stay with us through thick or thin. Some friends go for our money and fame. They are not our real friends. Madihah is Liya’s new friend. They sit next to each other in the classroom. They even go to recess together. Besides learning about each other, the girls improve their communication skills and learn to give and take.

My new school

January 8, 2010

Ajib was so excited to start 2010′s school year. He woke up at 5:30am this morning when I was busy preparing Liya’s lunch box and ironing Liya’s uniform. We both sent Liya to school. Her bag is quite heavy despite the books following the timetable given. Plus, it is not wise to have kids going up and down the 3rd floor for recess and assembly.

Ajib hugged me and was lead to his seat which is next to his second cousin, Irfan. Ajib looked around and assessed all parameters. I didn’t wait long enough to see him make contact or tease other toddlers. Ajib has been quite friendly and I hope he’s not too shaken by our move to a different town.

When he reached the school compound, Ajib said, “Irfan will take care me.” One factor certainly helps. That is huge for Ajib. Enough for me to realize that it takes time to build confidence in children.

Alto (STOP)

October 22, 2009

“Stop at red light..” Ajib spoke his mind to Daddy. I was thankful that some of my teachings have been assimilated.

It was right of way and my husband yielded to enter the main road leading to Ajib and Liya’s preschool. Liya also has complained that some motorists did not bother to follow the traffic rules. I hope that Ajib and Liya would grow up without compromising safety. We have one shot in life and that’s all about being safe and happy.

Cool Ride

September 11, 2009

What would be the best color for your car(s)?

Ajib has expressed that I needed a serious paint job for my car, the official ride to school. Although to me it was unnecessary, I did ask for his opinion.

“Yellow like Bumblebee or fiery Red like Ferrari,” Ajib tabled his suggestions. I was speechless and figured that I might as well get a brand-new car with those striking colors.

Seize the Moment

I was so curious when Liya and Ajib burst out laughing, top of their lungs. A minute they fought, a minute later there was a truce.

Fun at Sunset

Fun at Sunset

Liya saved Ajib’s actions in video. Then, Liya replayed all Ajib’s acts. It could be silly, fun and annoying. Nevertheless, Ajib and Liya learned about a piece of technology. As parents, we try to cherish those moments of laughters and happiness for time will pass and wait for no one.

Parenting is repeated. Style may differ. Skills must be learned. We also must impart knowledge to our loved ones. Have you ever wish that the children never grow up? Don’t you always replay in your minds every minute you watch the children grow up? We always remind how tiny their feet were, how they blew the candles on their birthday cakes, how they sang at school concert, how they came home with good grades, how they bled after a soccert match, how they sprained their ankles in a netball practice….
