Babies Onboard

August 20, 2009

A few of my good friends recently delivered their first babies. Sila is blessed with Alya Jean, Amy welcomes Reza and Dr Zack is happily cuddling Suci Maryam. I am so happy for them because my kids have been the source of my happiness too. Yes, the storks  came and handed the perfect gifts for a few blessed couples.

Some of us might not have a baby of our own. My auntie never had to wake up in the middle of the night for nappy change. She never had to stop eating her meal to comfort a cranky baby. She also never has to wait for the sore nipples to heal. In  her perfect life she has never experienced the labor of love nor sleepless nights. She is one of those patiently waiting for the storks to even come near, year after year.

So, my dear friends who are still trying to conceive either naturally or undergoing fertility treatment, my prayers are with you. It might be worth the wait or money. I wish the heaven will have its doors ajar and the storks shall be carrying the blessed souls from the heaven down upon you.. God Bless!

Surrogate Mothers

July 26, 2009

I’m recalling the days during my pregnancies. Each of the pregnancy is different and its own signature. The food we like is different, the smell that is considered nice and tolerable is changing, etc. Surrogacy can be a solution for certain couples if they are so willing to have a child from their egg and sperm. However, we can only manipulate certain variables like the biological and convenience for the surrogate mothers.

All emotions and biochemical processes are involved in pregnancy. Regardless whether we have prepared the nice accommodation, the best of food intake or vitamins; there’s no way of telling that the child will be any resemblance of the biological parents – at least not on the emotional level.

Some surrogate mothers may do it because of the fees to carry the baby healthily and to terms. A few others feel that they are doing their social obligation to help others. I think to be able to carry a baby inside the womb is a miracle by itself. To hand over the baby that has been a part of us for about 10 months require more than courage.

Jewish Formula

Read an interesting article from http://fifinoorhafiza.blogspot.com on how to develop/produce the greatest future leaders, scientists, business people, fashion designers and many more. I can’t stress more that prior and after conception are crucial. Pregnancy is another stage for physical and mental. Particularly, I am concerned with the diet from pregnancy – stick to the greens and oil rich fish like salmon and mackerel. My husband has been very caring and preparing my lunch boxes.

Post-partum, I took care of my diet to ensure highest quality of breastmilk. I stayed away from junk food, food preservatives and colourings.
