We had joy

We had fun

We had season in the sun

With Bofo and Dini in our hands..

Having pets – teaching kids to be responsible,  show compassion towards others to name few

English Reading Circle

March 18, 2010

I began to tutor my own children until I discovered other parents would want their children to join us. I guess I have found my calling in this new town. Liya enjoys the class and so does Ajib. The kids practise to be conversant in English language and learn new words alphabetically. I gave paper cutouts too. They drew and colored their pictures. Many boast their talent. Many begin to soften their tongues as they need to master a second language.

I’ve seen the pride on parents’ faces when they heard the children said “thank you” amongst other phrases and sentences.

I’ve sensed the hopes in the parents’ minds when they left their kids at my door.

I’ve longed to make the kids to feel confident, be proud of themselves and have fun learning.

Sup Tulang

Here in Malaysia, ‘bone soup’ is as famous as the oxtail soup. All you need is the bones like femur, ribs, etc. The broth takes about 2 hours or so to prepare till the meat tenderizes.

A few nights ago, it was hamburger night where Daddy was given a chance to show off his skills in the kitchen. Slices of onion, tomato, cucumber and cheese were looking so pretty on the plate.

“I know how to make the soup, Mama?”
“Really?” I said in disbelief.
“Boil the water and dump the bones,” Liya said.

Speak Up, Pencil!

March 9, 2010

They both were in disagreement.

“I was talking to the pencils,” Liya said.

“They can’t speak!” Ajib defended his belief.

In the world of imagination, anything is possible. I let my kids’ imaginations run wild and explore the impossible at times. They’ll find facts and the truths along the journey to adulthood, I’m pretty sure of it.

Palm Art

March 3, 2010

Had fun at Ajib’s school where the children had learned dancing steps, songs and body movements. I also enjoyed drawing and painting the school’s mural.
One wall was dedicated to Ajib. Mom said so because it was mom’s volunteering project…
